Centrosolar America and Johnson Melloh Solutions have completed a 61 kW solar project at the new Fronius building in Portage, Ind. The building houses both the Fronius USA headquarters as well as its U.S. manufacturing facility.
The photovoltaic system, installed by Johnson Melloh, includes a 55 kW rooftop array and a pole-mounted 6 kW array with Wattsun dual-axis trackers. The project incorporates 244 Centrosolar B-series 250 W panels. Fronius supplied 10 different inverters – ranging from 3 kW to 12 kW – from its product line for the installation.
‘This first phase of our solar system and new solar lab will be used for testing new inverters designed specifically for the U.S.,’ says Sebastian Hassell, product manager for Fronius USA.
