Hong Kong-based GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd. says it has received governmental approval to begin preparatory work on planned solar projects in China.
The company will build 310 MW of ground-mounted solar projects and 30 MW of rooftop-mounted projects in Datong Shanxi province, China. According to Zhu Gongshan, chairman of GCL-Poly, the approval reflects the Chinese government's strong support of its domestic solar business.
