Energy provider GDF SUEZ, along with its joint venture partners, has signed a contract to build a 33 MW photovoltaic facility in Curbans, France. According to the company, this solar farm will be the largest PV facility in France.
The plant will include approximately 145,000 photovoltaic panels producing 43.5 million kWh of energy each year. Commissioning is scheduled for August 2011. Construction and operation of the future facility will be carried out by a newly formed project company comprising GDF SUEZ's two financial partners, EuroFideme 21 (Natixis Environnement & Infrastructure) and SEIEF (Dexia).
GDF SUEZ will handle operations and maintenance of the project for 20 years.
