Gehrlicher Develops BIPV Facade Featuring SolarEdge Tech

0

Gehrlicher Solar AG has introduced a newly designed building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) facade system – gehrtec – that includes a power harvesting system from SolarEdge. The product will be formally unveiled at Intersolar next month.

The system uses high-performance modules and lightweight materials to ensure system stability. It exhibits high partial-shading immunity, thus allowing increased energy yield, the company says.

The installation is based on the gehrtec backrail system, which Gehrlicher previously used for ground-mounted systems. The modules are ventilated from behind with vertical carrier rails. According to the company, the façade fixation element Sto Verotec is screwed into the supporting wall, onto which vertically running gehrtec carrier rails are attached.

With Sto Verotec and the gehrtec rail system, façade unevenness can be overcome during installation, the company adds. The technician then mounts the photovoltaic modules with the back rails glued onto the backside.
