Gehrlicher Solar AG has finished construction on the Perleberg solar project, a 35 MW plant located halfway between Hamburg and Berlin in Germany.
Gerlicher built the ground-mounted PV system on the grounds of the former Perleberg military airport in Brandenburg. Due to the solar park's high capacity, the company also built a separate expandable 110 kV transformer station, which serves to connect the solar park to the grid.
After the complex undertaking of munitions removal at the site, the company installed 144,144 Yingli modules, 39 SMA inverters and approximately 500 km of cable.
