Global Solar Energy Inc., a manufacturer of copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) thin-film solar products, says that the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory has confirmed 15.45% total area efficiency for Global Solar's production-level CIGS material.
The company has also reached a peak efficiency of 11.7% for production CIGS solar cell strings manufactured at its 35 MW Germany plant and 40 MW U.S. plant.
