GT Solar International Inc., a global provider of polysilicon production technology and sapphire and silicon crystalline growth systems, has appointed John R. Granara vice president of finance, chief accounting officer and corporate controller. He succeeds Richard E. Johnson, who has resigned to pursue other interests.
Granara joins GT Solar with nearly 20 years of international finance experience in leadership and management positions with publicly traded companies. Most recently, he served as interim chief financial officer at A123. Prior to that role, from 2007 to 2010, he was A123's vice president of finance and corporate controller.
