Hanwha SolarOne Names Several New Executives


Hanwha SolarOne Co. Ltd., a China-based vertically integrated manufacturer of silicon ingots, wafers and photovoltaic cells and modules, says its board of directors has appointed Ki-Joon Hong CEO.

In addition, Jung Pyo Seo has been named chief financial officer (CFO), Chris Eberspacher has been named chief technology officer (CTO), and Justin Koo Yung Lee has been named chief commercial officer. Dr. Peter Xie and Gareth Kung will step down from their positions as president and CEO and CFO, respectively.

Hong is currently the chairman of the board of SolarOne and CEO of Hanwha Chemical Corp. He was previously the CEO of Hanwha's pharmaceutical and refinery businesses.

Seo joins SolarOne from Azdel Inc., an automotive thermoplastic material manufacturer based in Virginia, where he was CFO and chief operating officer. Eberspacher is currently president of Hanwha Solar America and was previously with Applied Materials in Santa Clara, Calif., where he was CTO of its solar business.

Lee joins SolarOne from Hanwha International in New Jersey. In his last two years at Hanwha International as vice president, he helped expand Hanwha's chemical business in new markets in North America.
