HED International, based in Ringoes, N.J., has released the LabCast laboratory tabletop coating/casting system. The product is designed for industry research and engineering development of thick films, including those used in photovoltaics.
The affordable LabCast is ideal for fabricating highly uniform sheets of flexible film as thin as .0005 inches, the company says. Films are readily web-cast from a wide variety of polymer, elastomer, ceramic, metal and composite liquid suspensions. LabCast series coaters/casters are available for producing films on plastic, paper, metallic foil and other substrates.
