HelioVolt Lands $50 Million Investment From Korean Energy Firm

SK TIC and SK Innovation, members of the SK Group – a Korea-based energy, chemicals and telecommunications firm – and HelioVolt Corp., a U.S.-based manufacturer of thin-film photovoltaic modules, have reached an agreement to collaborate on technology development and global manufacturing expansion.

The SK Group has invested $50 million to expand HelioVolt's Austin, Texas, manufacturing operations and has begun collaboration to develop HelioVolt's global capabilities, HelioVolt says.

In connection with the transaction, Bank of America Merrill Lynch acted as exclusive placement agent for HelioVolt.
