Hoku Solar Inc., a subsidiary of Hoku Scientific Inc., has completed the installation of two turnkey PV power systems for Paradise Beverages Inc. at its Kailua-Kona and Lihue facilities in Hawaii, respectively. Combined, the systems include approximately 100 kW of PV panels and are expected to produce over 150,000 kWh of electricity each year. Paradise Beverages is the Hawaii distributor for Coors, Heineken, Corona and Miller products.
‘With soaring energy prices in Hawaii, particularly on the islands of Hawaii and Kauai, our partnership with Hoku Solar couldn't have come at a better time,’ says Gordon Usui, chief financial officer for Paradise Beverages. ‘These systems will save us money and make a positive impact on the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.’
