Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Ore., has awarded Honeywell a contract to install solar panels on the roof of the college's Pamplin Sports Center and sell the electricity to the college. The power purchase agreement is the first of its kind for a college or university in Oregon.
Energy Trust of Oregon is funding part of the project, and Advanced Energy Systems will work with Honeywell to install the panels. The system, due to come on line in August, is expected to generate more than 97,000 kWh of electricity annually.
