California-based IAPMO R&T, a developer of standards for the plumbing, mechanical and solar industries, says its solar heating standard has been accepted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
The purpose of the IAPMO/ANSI S1001.4 Energy Production Rating of Solar Heating Collectors standard is to specify a comprehensive calculation procedure to evaluate the daily energy production of individual collectors under a specific set of climatic conditions.
A calculator, which automatically duplicates the calculations set forth in the standard, is also available at no charge.
