Photovoltaic systems vendor IBC Solar AG, Bad Staffelstein, Germany, says the PV facility it has designed for Malaysia's national electricity company has been delivered"ready to use," following an installation that began in January.
The facility will be used by the electricity provider for demonstration purposes and will increase the level of practical experience with PV technology, as well as be available for training sessions. The system's 112 thin film solar modules cover an area of around 110 square meters and have a peak yield of around 6 kW.
"Approximately 7,100 kWh of electricity shall be produced annually," says Johannes Schneider, director of corporate projects at IBC Solar AG." In doing so, the plant shall be saving the environment from 6,400 kilograms of carbon dioxide and other damaging agents."
