IdeemaTec Deutschland GmbH says it will provide its safeTrack Vertec tracking
Systems to two PV plants under construction in South Africa.
IdeemaTec will supply 4,000 of its safeTrack Vertec units for the 22 MW Herbert project and 2,000 trackers for the 11 MW Greefspan project. Both installations are expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2014.
The projects are led by AE-AMD Renewable Energy, a joint venture between
Spain-based AMDA energia, South Africa-based Alt-E Technologies and
Tenesol, a SunPower company. The ground-mounted solar systems will hold 138,000 Tenesol TE 240 photovoltaic solar panels. Tenesol will also act as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the two projects.
