Home furnishings retailer IKEA has completed a 252 kW PV array at its San Diego store. The 30,000 square-foot array was built with approximately 1,120 panels.
For the development, design and installation of the solar power system, IKEA contracted with Gloria Solar, the U.S. operating group focused on the photovoltaic business within the family of E-Ton Solar Group. This project is the only IKEA installation in the 4,100 square-mile service area of San Diego Gas and Electric Co., the company says.
IKEA adds that this installation represents its 10th completed solar energy project in the U.S.
