Home furnishings retailer IKEA says it has officially plugged in a solar energy system at its store in Atlanta.
The 129,400 square-foot PV array consists of a 1.035 MW system, built with 4,312 panels. For the development, design and installation of the Atlanta store's customized solar power system, IKEA contracted with Gehrlicher Solar America Corp.
This installation represents IKEA's 23rd completed solar energy project in the U.S., and the company has 16 more locations under way.
