The Indian government may follow in the footsteps of a U.S. solar coalition and launch its own anti-dumping probe into solar cell and module imports from China.
According to Bloomberg Businessweek, a recent statement made by China's Commerce Ministry made reference to a possible investigation by India. However, Rahul Khullar, India's commerce secretary, did not confirm the investigation.
Indian manufacturers are also looking to implement a 15% tariff on imported thin-film modules, including those from Tempe, Ariz.-based First Solar, Renewable Energy Ministry Secretary Tarun Kapoor told Bloomberg Businessweek.
