Intermolecular Inc. has hired Craig Hunter as vice president and general manager of its solar business. Hunter joins Intermolecular from Sequoia Capital, a venture capital firm, where he was an entrepreneur in residence, focusing on the photovoltaic industry.
Hunter previously founded and then served as general manager of the thin-film solar business at Applied Materials Inc., where he was instrumental in formulating the strategy for Applied Materials' SunFab thin-film line. Before joining Applied Materials, Hunter served in a variety of senior management roles, including chief financial officer of Evercare Corp. and director of mergers and acquisitions at The Beacon Group in New York.
