Austria-based Fronius International GmbH plans to open a subsidiary in Shanghai, China, in March.
The Chinese market is the fastest-growing photovoltaic market in the world, and in the next few years, it will become one of the largest, Fronius says. The company's subsidiary will initially employ 12 staffers working in sales, after-sales (e.g., technical support, repair center) and marketing.
Fronius began its operations in China by securing a 1 MW project in Chongming, which enabled it to establish its presence, the company explains.
