Isra Solar Vision, a supplier of machine vision products, has introduced a three-dimensional imaging option to its Solarscan-FrontPrint and Solarscan-RearPrint systems.
According to the company, the new 3D option allows for the reliable detection of splinters and other height-relevant structural defects. Up until now, even the most efficient inspections for solar cells have been two-dimensional and have left some defects undetected.
The 3D imaging takes place during surface inspection and geometrical gauging at the printing process stage. Cell manufacturers benefit directly from the implementation of this new inspection technology through significantly higher machine uptimes and reduced cell breakage, Isra Solar Vision says.
