Japan has signed off on a recommendation to reduce its solar feed-in tariff (FIT) by 10% – to 37.8 yen/kWh. The change goes into effect April 1.
According to a Bloomberg report, this reduction is the first rate change since the renewable energy incentive program, which also includes FITs for wind and geothermal, was launched last July. FIT levels for other forms of renewable energy – which are lower than the solar FIT – will not be changed.
