Japanese Government Initiates NEDO Solar PV Project

Day4 Energy Inc. has supplied Day4 48MC solar modules to Mitsui & Co Ltd. for an installation sponsored by the Japanese government's New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

Operated by NTT Facilities Inc., the NEDO project has included the Day4 48MC among 26 other module makes in its evaluation of the positive and stabilizing impact that large-scale photovoltaic systems can have on the regional utility grid.

The project will be executed in phases, with the entire approximately 2 MW system expected to be operational in mid 2009. The project will continuously evaluate and optimize a cross-section of leading PV technology options, including monocrystalline silicon, multicrystalline silicon, thin films and concentrating systems.
