JinkoSolar is teaming up with China-based Tsinghua University on the school's so-called Dream Grid Plan and will become the sole photovoltaic facility provider for the initiative.
According to JinkoSolar, the university's Department of Electronic Engineering founded Dream Grid in an effort to provide students with a means to give back to society. Students will apply the knowledge they've acquired at the university to provide children in the Tibetan-inhabited areas of Sichuan Province with a clean and sustainable energy supply.
JinkoSolar says it will partner with Tsinghua University to implement the Dream Grid Plan in Gonggashan, Kangding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, where the initiative will build a mobile signal tower, along with a microgrid system, to provide a basic power supply for area schools.
