The juwi group, based in Wörrstadt, Germany, has completed grid connection of its largest solar power project in 2008 – the Waldpolenz energy park in Brandis, located near Leipzig in eastern Germany.

This plant is the fourth-largest photovoltaic array in the world, the company adds. ‘We've completed a one-of-a-kind project, in which grid connection happened even faster than we anticipated,’ says Ingo Rödner, juwi branch director.

The solar park has a surface area of more than 100 hectares. Specialists from juwi solar GmbH installed more than half a million thin-film modules supplied by First Solar. As general contractor, juwi directed planning, logistics and construction site management for the project.
