KDC Solar LLC has commenced commercial operations of its 6.31 MW solar photovoltaic power system at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, N.J.
The ground-mount project covers 26.2 acres leased from CentraState and includes 21,408 PV modules, three Eaton Power Xpert 1500 kW inverters and one Advanced Energy 500 kW inverter. The array is expected to generate approximately 8.1 GWh of electricity per year, which will be used by the medical center.
KDC Solar developed, owns and will operate the project. New Jersey-based Torcon Industries provided construction services. California-based SPI Solar provided engineering and construction oversight.
