Knipex, a Wuppertal, Germany-based developer and producer of pliers, has expanded its product line to include a solar case for photovoltaic applications. The case contains VDE-insulated cable shears, an insulation stripper specially designed for solar cables and precision crimping pliers.
The crimping dies for the pliers can be ordered separately as needed for the standard connector models from Huber & Suhner, Multi-Contact MC 3 and MC 4, Hirschmann SunCon, Wieland and Tyco Solarlock. The case has recesses dimensioned to hold the dies and optional locators.
