The Komax Group, headquartered in Dierikon/Lucerne, Switzerland, has introduced the XCell 3400 stringer, which features a soldering head with non-metallic ceramic hold-down pins and contactless thermal feedback. Komax says this construction allows for a reduction in maintenance and a dramatic improvement in the composition and quality of soldered connections.
Other features of the stringer include the AccuTrack string transport system for gentle handling, visual inspection and optical alignment of the crystalline cell, total ribbon control due to the product's technique of holding both ends of the ribbon until the hold-down devices take control, and a precise contactless spray fluxing method designed to ensure a reliable soldering process.
