Augsburg, Germany-based KUKA Systems GmbH, a global supplier of robot-based automation systems, has expanded its offerings to include technology and process equipment for slicing, cropping and square-sawing wafers. The expansion follows KUKA Systems' acquisition of the slicing technology from mechanical engineering company Themis AS.
With this portfolio expansion, KUKA Systems says it can now supply customers with nearly the full line of equipment required for the automated production of crystalline PV modules.
