Japan-based Kyocera Corp. says it has concluded a licensing agreement with Hanwha Q Cells Japan Co. Ltd. that resolves a patent complaint the former has lodged against the latter.
Under the terms of the agreement, Hanwha Q Cells Japan will license Kyocera's ‘three-bus-bar electrode structure’ that increases energy conversion efficiency in solar modules. In return, Kyocera has withdrawn its lawsuit against Hanwha relating to the patent for the technology.
The deal also includes a mutual exchange of patent licenses between the two companies to be executed in the future.
