Kyocera Corp. will provide approximately 13 MW of solar modules for the Ohgishima Solar Power Plant planned by Tokyo Electric Power Co., with construction by Hitachi Ltd.

Scheduled for completion in 2011, the installation will be one of the largest in Japan, providing electricity for approximately 3,800 homes, Kyocera says. To promote land-use efficiency, the Kyocera solar modules, covering about 57 acres, will be installed on an artificial island just outside of Tokyo Bay.
