Kyocera Corp. has supplied 8,500 solar modules for a new 2 MW solar power plant that sits over four acres of unused farmland in northwestern France. The plant was officially inaugurated on Oct. 21 in Distre, in the French department of Maine-et-Loire.
The installation is expected to have an average annual output of 2.2 GWh, according to Kyocera. The project was developed with an investment by Quenea Energies Renouvelables, a France-based company specializing in renewable energy, and the state-run financial institution Caisse des Depots et Consignations.
