Kyocera Supplying 1.7 MW Of Solar Modules For Japanese PV Plant

Kyocera Corp. will supply 9,000 solar modules – a total of 1.7 MW – for the first stage of the Matsuyama solar power plant in Ehime prefecture, Japan. Planned by Shikoku Electric Power Co. Inc., with construction by Yonden Engineering Co. Inc., this plant is scheduled to go online in spring 2011.

The Matsuyama solar power plant will combine with an existing installation for a total of approximately 2 MW and become the largest solar installation on the island of Shikoku, Japan, Kyocera notes. Once operational, the system will provide 2,200 MWh of electricity each year.
