U.K.-based Lark Energy has recently secured planning permission for 100 MW of new solar farms.

The approved projects include three in Suffolk: 35 MW and 14 MW facilities at two former Royal Air Force airfields at Stradishall and Ellough, respectively; plus another 26 MW plant at South Creek. Also approved are 15 MW plants at Thornham in Norfolk and Burton Pedwardine in Lincolnshire.

Lark Energy says it will seek to assume the role of engineering, procurement and construction on the majority of the sites, together with the provision of ongoing operations and maintenance services.

‘We are optimistic about future opportunities in the solar sector, although clearly we remain concerned about the impact of the current European trade dispute with China,’ says Lark Energy Managing Director Jonathan Selwyn.
