Only four weeks remain to register for the Brita Climate Ride 2009, the first multi-day bicycle ride that helps raise money for and awareness of climate change and renewable energy legislation.
The event, which takes place over five days from Sept. 26-30, is a 300-mile ride from Manhattan through New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland to Washington, D.C. On the fifth day, riders will cycle past the Washington Monument and arrive near the marble steps of the Capitol building.
‘Climate Riders’ pay a $100 registration fee and must raise $2,400 in order to participate. All proceeds go to Focus the Nation, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and Clean Air – Cool Planet.
