Diamond Wire Technology (DWT), a manufacturer of diamond wire and diamond wire saws, says that LDK Solar Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of solar wafers, has chosen DWT's SR200 Filament Saws to be used in LDK Solar's new 15,000-tons-per-year polysilicon production plant in Xinyu City, China.
According to DWT, in comparison to the traditional process of cutting with blades, the SR200 Filament Saw is capable of cutting up to 100% more filaments, with lower kerf, resulting in more material for use in the production of polysilicon rods.
