Leviton, a provider of electrical wiring devices, lighting controls and other products, will no longer offer solar leasing and installation services. The company announced its formal entry in the market just this week, as reported by Solar Industry.
‘Leviton launched a pilot program in January 2012 in which solar system leasing was offered to qualified homeowners in limited test markets,’ the company explains in a statement. ‘The program did not meet its objectives, and Leviton has suspended solar leasing.’
Without providing further details whether the program might be reinstated, Leviton adds that it will ‘evaluate and examine a variety of solar and sustainable opportunities.’
