Measure B, which would have mandated that Los Angeles' Department of Water and Power install 400 MW of solar projects by 2014, did not reach the majority of votes required to pass the legislation.
The Los Angeles Times reports that election officials recently finished their count of 49,000 remaining mail-in, provisional and damaged ballots. In all, 50.5% of voters opposed Measure B, and 49.5% supported the plan.
