Lotus Systems GmbH, a manufacturer of wet process, cleaning and chemical management systems for photovoltaic production, has developed new vertical spray cleaners that allow manufacturers to clean cell carriers at their facilities.
The spraying technique ensures that there is always a reactive medium on the surface and makes cleaning two to three times faster, Lotus says. Because of how the nozzles are positioned and controlled, only about a tenth of the chemicals are needed. Also, the cost of cleaning and drying is about a quarter of what it has traditionally been, and the carriers are ready for use again after 12 hours, the company adds.
