The specialty films division of Madico Inc., a manufacturer of photovoltaic backsheets, has expanded its internal performance analysis lab. The lab is an extension of Madico's research and development division, located at its corporate headquarters in Woburn, Mass.
The lab is strategically outfitted to conduct a variety of essential viability tests, including weatherability, electrical insulation, mechanical properties, and optical and surface characteristic analysis, the company says. The most recent additions to the testing lab are a climate chamber used to conduct accelerated aging tests, a Permatran-W system to measure the moisture transmission rate, and a vacuum laminator that provides the ability to produce small modules.
