Turnkey PV system provider Mage Solar says that Sylvia Minton, the company's senior vice president for corporate, institutional and government affairs, has been appointed to serve on the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee (RE&EEAC) at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The RE&EEAC's core task is to advise the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce on competitiveness issues confronting the export of U.S. renewable energy and energy-efficiency technologies. Other duties involve recommendations on the development and administration of U.S. government programs and policies aiding the development of a strong renewable energy industry that is able to compete internationally.

With 25 years of international management experience, Minton led the site selection process for Mage Solar in the U.S. in 2009 and has since been the company's catalyst for all corporate, institutional and government-related affairs, the company says.
