Magna-Power Electronics, a provider of high-power programmable DC power supplies, has released an update to its solar emulation capabilities. The company says its latest release combines its new high-slew-rate output stage, controller performance optimizations and updated Photovoltaic Power Profile Emulation (PPPE) software for a solar emulation range of 2 kW to over 1 MW.
In addition, the high-slew-rate output option is designed to solve several limitations inherent to switching power-supply design, allowing for rapid voltage transitions and tolerance to instantaneous load transitions from open circuit to short circuit, Magna-Power Electronics notes, adding that the updated PPPE software now enables both current-mode and voltage-mode control, for various load characteristics.
The new solar emulation products are now shipping.
