Schubert is an expert in optoelectronic devices and nanostructure-based antireflection coating technology. He is named as the inventor or co-inventor on 28 U.S. patents and has authored or co-authored more than 250 publications. His books include Doping in III-V Semiconductors (1993), Delta Doping in Semiconductors (1996), and the first and second editions of Light-Emitting Diodes (2003 and 2006).
