Caroline County, Md., officials, Washington Gas Energy Systems Inc. and Kenyon Energy have dedicated several ground-mounted solar systems installed at the county's schools.
The arrays, which have a combined expected annual energy production of 2,800 MWh, were installed at the Caroline Career and Technology Center, North Caroline High School, Colonel Richardson Middle and High Schools, and Greensboro Elementary School.
Washington Gas Energy Systems will own and operate the systems, which were built with no up-front costs to the schools through a power purchase agreement. The arrays were designed and installed by Kenyon Energy and total 2.03 MW in output.
