MECASOLAR Opens Tracker Factory In Ontario

Spain-based MECASOLAR has opened a new manufacturing facility in Wallaceburg, Ontario, to distribute single-axis and dual-axis trackers to customers in Canada and the northeastern U.S. Products are made from Canadian steel, assembled in Canada and subcontracted from local suppliers to meet domestic-content requirements.

The new plant is expected to reach a production capacity of 8,000 solar trackers per year and already has orders to be delivered to its customers at the beginning of November. MECASOLAR adds that it plans to further expand its facilities in Canada in 2011 to meet the demands of this solar market.
