MEMC Electronic Materials Inc. says it has received 1,000 V UL certification with the introduction of its Silvantis line of multicrystalline 290 W PV modules.
With this certification, Silvantis modules can be connected in series strings of up to 1,000 V instead of limiting such connections to the conventional 600 V. This configuration provides significant savings in operations and maintenance and balance-of-system costs, the company says.
