Mondial Energy Inc. has entered a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Hillcrest Lodge, a nonprofit housing provider based in Orillia, Ontario. Hillcrest's solar installation is part of a building expansion being designed by Robert Reimers, Architects.
Under the agreement, Mondial will build a rooftop solar thermal system for the heating of domestic hot water. Mondial will sell the heat to Hillcrest under a long-term contract, the companies say.
Also, Mondial has entered a construction contract with Taylor Munro Energy Systems of British Columbia for the construction of the solar panel system. The 28 collectors are expected to generate 50,000 kWh per year.
