Moore Energy, a designer and installer of PV systems, has introduced a program under which it will provide warranty services on solar systems that were installed by other solar installers that have since gone out of business.
A number of solar installers have recently discontinued operations and have left the owners of solar systems without the ability to diagnose faulty solar systems and process warranty claims from equipment manufacturers, Moore Energy says. Meanwhile, most solar modules have a warranty of at least 25 years, while inverters carry five year warranties.
In most cases, the manufacturer of the faulty equipment is responsible for the cost of all parts and labor, as well as the cost of removing, shipping and reinstalling defective or replacement components during the warranty period. Under its program, Moore Energy engineers will diagnose the problem, repair or replace the faulty equipment, and restart the system. Moore Energy will also process all paperwork associated with the warranty claim.     Â
