National Solar Power says that seven communities in the southeast U.S. are in ‘serious contention’ to be chosen by the company as the site for the construction and operation of a planned 400 MW PV solar project. The finalists' list of communities includes four in Florida, two in Georgia and one in North Carolina.
‘Over the next month, we will continue our due diligence and make a final decision about where this revolutionary venture will make its permanent home,’ says James Scrivener, CEO of National Solar Power.
National Solar Power's planned solar installation will be made up of 20 related 200-acre solar farms, with each generating more than 20 MW of energy. Hensel Phelps Construction Co. has been selected to design, build and operate the solar farms.
