Kaltemp has completed its 2 MW Tambo Real II solar project in Vicuna, Chile. The company developed, financed and built the project on its own land.
Tambo Real II features one 20 kW string of Trina Solar's new PDG5 dual glass modules alongside the 8,500 Trina PC05 modules, representing the balance of the ground-mount installation. Kaltemp says it will monitor the performance of the PDG5 modules and compare them with that of the standard PC05 modules in the changing climatic conditions of high desert site.
The project uses SMA inverters and ABB transformer stations. Hilti provided mounting equipment.
